In short

Agniverse Media, an operator-run UGC agency, started an organic creator program for an AI video app before the app was live, to test angles and hooks ahead of launch day. In 6 days, 6 creators posted 41 videos across Instagram, TikTok and Facebook. They drew 4.0M organic views, and one post passed 1.5M. The month-one target was about 1M views. We paused posting because the app was still waiting on App Store approval, so nobody could download it.

The client

The client makes an AI video generator for iOS. You type an idea, it gives you a short cinematic video. The founder has built mobile apps for over a decade.

The app was submitted to the App Store and the plan was a hard launch: UGC, paid social and Apple Search Ads on the same day.

The starting point

  • A brand-new app with no audience, no live store listing and brand-new creator accounts.
  • The plan was to start content before launch, find the hooks that work, then go full send on launch day.

The challenge

Nothing to download yet

Views before launch cannot turn into installs. The point of these weeks was to learn which hooks travel, so launch day starts with proven creative instead of guesses.

A product people do not search for

Nobody wakes up wanting an AI video generator. The content had to make people want the video first, and only then show where it came from.

What we did

Angle

One angle: a story about getting back at someone, told as on-screen text. The payoff is a movie trailer made in the app.

Format

A silent 5 to 10 second clip of the creator, with the whole story as one text block on screen and a trending sound. People have to stop scrolling to read it.

Hooks

4 hooks inside that angle, each a different relationship and a different betrayal.

Creators and distribution

6 creators on fresh accounts posted 41 videos, cross-posted to Instagram, TikTok and Facebook.

The hooks

Two hooks carried 3.5M of the 4.0M views. We paused before scaling any hook, so all four are still marked testing.

“2.5M views in 4 days”
4.0M by October 31, from 41 videos.
“one video hit 1M from a brand new account”
That reel kept going. It is the top post of the run, at 1.56M views.
“test angles and hooks, then go full send on launch day”
4 hooks tested in 6 days. Two of them carried 3.5M views.

What did not work

  • Posting with nowhere to send people. The views were real, but the app was still in review, so they could not turn into installs and we paused.
  • TikTok and Facebook. The same videos drew 134K on TikTok and 11K on Facebook, against 3.83M on Instagram.
  • The weakest hook, a sister's ex calling her boring, drew 80K across 11 videos. The other three hooks had higher stakes.

Takeaways

  1. Start content before you ship. A week of posting found two hooks worth 3.5M views before launch day.
  2. Have the store listing live, or a pre-order page, before you post. Otherwise the best week of views has nowhere to go.
  3. Make the product the punchline. The videos never explain the app. They tell a story people want to finish, and the app made the ending.

Frequently asked questions

Should you start UGC before your app launches?
Yes, to find hooks, as long as people have somewhere to go. Agniverse Media started an AI video app's creator program before App Store approval and drew 4.0M organic views from 41 videos in 6 days. We then paused, because nobody could download the app yet. Start a few weeks before launch with a pre-order page or a waitlist live.
How fast can organic UGC work for a new app?
In this program, fresh accounts reached 4.0M views from 41 videos in the first week of posting, and one post passed 1.5M. That is unusually fast. Most programs need two to three weeks of testing before an angle breaks out.
