The best Profound alternatives

Profound is the best-known enterprise AI visibility platform, and its pricing page now shows only a free trial and a custom Enterprise plan. These are the Profound alternatives worth a look, grouped by what each does better for some teams, with Profound read fairly at the top.

Last updated October 2026 · Published by Agniverse GEO

Published by Agniverse GEO, the AI search lab from Agniverse. We do GEO work for app makers and have no relationship with Profound or any tool here. We rank by use case, every price comes from the tool's own pricing page, and anything we could not verify is left out.

Short answer

The best Profound alternative depends on why you are leaving. For published self-serve pricing, Peec AI. For a free plan that keeps tracking, AthenaHQ. For a set mid-market price with prompts you write, Scrunch. For articles written and published for you, Gauge. Stay with Profound if you need enterprise SSO, up to nine engines and a sales-led setup.

Why look past Profound

Profound is a capable platform. Its own pricing page is also plain about the trade-offs, and those trade-offs are what send teams looking for a Profound alternative.

No price until you talk to sales

The pricing page lists two plans. Trial is free and Enterprise is 'Custom'. There is no self-serve paid plan in between, so budgeting starts with a demo. The Starter and Growth prices you may still see on other sites are no longer on Profound's own page.

A short, fixed trial

The free trial runs 7 days with 50 prompts a day on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, in one region and one language. Profound picks the prompts and you cannot edit them. The trial has no exports, no API and no support.

Built for big marketing teams

Enterprise brings SSO and SAML, SOC 2, dedicated support and AI Marketer credits for the whole team. Right for a large org. A lot of platform for a three-person team that mainly wants to know whether ChatGPT names them.

Agent work runs on credits

The AI Marketer agent runs on credits, and Profound says going past the included amount needs an Enterprise package. If you want a fixed monthly bill, a tool that lists what each plan includes is easier to plan around.

How to choose a Profound alternative

Name the reason you are looking. If it is price visibility, Peec AI, Scrunch, Otterly.AI and Rankscale all list their plans, so you can compare before any call. If it is the trial, AthenaHQ has a free plan that does not expire, and Scrunch, Goodie and Rankscale offer week-long trials on paid plans. If the AI Marketer is what drew you to Profound, Gauge and Goodie write content as part of a listed plan. If you already pay for Semrush, try its AI toolkit first. And if you need SSO, nine engines and a vendor that will sit with procurement, Profound may still be the right call. Whichever you pick, it will tell you where you stand. Changing that is separate work.

What to check before you switch from Profound

  • Whether you can see the price and try the tool on your own prompts before a sales call.
  • Which engines the plan you can afford actually covers. Enterprise engine lists are not the base plan.
  • Prompt limits and run frequency, and whether the trial lets you write your own prompts.
  • Whether you need content drafted for you, or only measurement and recommendations.
  • SSO, SOC 2 and audit logs, if your security team will ask. Several alternatives keep these on Enterprise too.
  • Who acts on the data each week. The tool measures. A person or an agency does the work.

The best Profound alternatives, by use case

Four alternatives, each fixing one thing teams leave Profound over: hidden pricing, a short trial, a fixed prompt set, or wanting content written at a listed price.

Profound itself, and four more

The incumbent, read fairly, then a commerce specialist, the cheapest tracker here, an SEO-suite add-on, and a credit-based pick for agencies. For the most common swap line by line, see Profound vs Peec AI. Already on Peec? See the Peec AI alternatives.

Profound

Measures + drafts

Best for: The incumbent: enterprise teams that want a sales-led platform with an AI agent

Profound is the name most teams benchmark against, and for good reason. On Enterprise it tracks up to nine answer engines, adds ChatGPT Shopping and agent analytics, and comes with SSO, SAML and SOC 2. Its AI Marketer agent finds work, drafts it and asks you to approve it. The reasons to look elsewhere are on its own pricing page. There is no self-serve paid plan, only a 7-day trial and custom Enterprise pricing, and the trial uses a prompt set Profound picks for you.

Goodie

Measures + drafts

Best for: Ecommerce brands that want AI shopping visibility with a listed price

Profound tracks ChatGPT Shopping on Enterprise. Goodie puts shopping on a price list. Its Pro plan at $999 a month adds SKU-level agentic commerce visibility on top of brand tracking. Core at $399 covers 120 prompts on five engines with content and optimization agents, five seats and AEO strategist support. Agencies have a separate plan from $275 a month.

Otterly.AI

Measures + suggests

Best for: The cheapest way to start tracking

Otterly.AI is what you buy when Profound is more than the job needs. $29 a month gets 15 prompts tracked daily on ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot, with GEO page audits and weekly recommendations. Standard at $189 raises it to 100 prompts with API and MCP access. You get a clear read on whether you appear, without a sales call.

Heads-upNo content agent. It measures and recommends, and the doing is up to you.

Best for: SEO teams already paying for Semrush

Before you sign an enterprise contract, check whether the SEO suite you already have covers the basics. Semrush's AI Visibility Toolkit tracks 25 prompts daily across ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity for one domain, plus prompt research and an AI readiness site audit. Semrush lists it at $99 a month per domain.

Heads-upOne domain and 25 prompts. A first step, not a Profound replacement at scale.

Rankscale

Measures + suggests

Best for: Agencies that want a listed price per client volume

Profound has a self-serve agency plan, but its pricing page does not show the price. Rankscale does. Growth at $385 a month is its agency plan, with 5,500 credits, up to 22,000 answers, 50 brand dashboards and white-label options. Pro at $99 is enough for a single brand. It covers ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, DeepSeek, Mistral, Copilot and Google's AI Mode and Overviews.

Terms you will see on these pricing pages

Answer engine
An AI product that answers a question directly, like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot or Google AI Overviews. Profound counts up to nine on Enterprise.
Prompt set
The list of buyer questions a tool asks the engines for you. Writing your own matters, because a generic set may miss how your buyers ask.
AI Marketer, content agent
A feature that turns tracking data into drafts or page changes. Profound calls its version AI Marketer. A person still approves and publishes.
Credits
A usage unit some tools bill in. Profound uses credits for agent runs. AthenaHQ uses one per AI answer. Rankscale uses fractions per engine query.
Agent analytics
Reports on which AI crawlers visit your site and which visits arrive from AI assistants. Profound, Peec AI, Otterly.AI and Scrunch all offer a version.

How this list is built

We re-read Profound's pricing page and each alternative's own pricing page on October 1, 2026, using a headless browser where prices load with JavaScript. Every price here is as listed in October 2026, in the currency the page showed us. Peec AI bills in euros, so its prices are shown in dollars converted at the ECB rate on October 1, 2026 (1 EUR = 1.1298 USD), with the euro price in brackets. Semrush lists its toolkit at $99 a month. Profound's page shows only Trial and Enterprise. A competitor's comparison page from January 2026 still quotes older Profound tiers. Profound no longer lists them, so we do not repeat them. We left out tools whose pricing or limits we could not confirm on their own site. Alternatives are grouped by the job they do better for some teams, not ranked one to eight.

A note on who publishes this. Agniverse GEO is an AI search service for app makers, not a software tool, and has no relationship with Profound or any other tool on this page. We run our own tracker for client work, 50 buyer prompts on ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini with three samples each, every two weeks, which is why we know what these tools measure. It is part of our service, not a product on this list. One angle to weigh: we sell the work, so we lean toward saying tools only measure. We kept to what each vendor says about itself. No paid placements, no affiliate links.

Frequently asked questions

What are the best Profound alternatives?
It depends on why you are leaving Profound. For published self-serve pricing, Peec AI. For a free plan that keeps running, AthenaHQ. For a listed mid-market plan, Scrunch at $250 a month. For articles written and published for you, Gauge. For AI shopping visibility, Goodie. For the smallest budget, Otterly.AI at $29 a month. For Semrush users, the Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit. For agencies, Rankscale.
How much does Profound cost?
Profound's pricing page shows two plans: a free 7-day Trial and a custom-priced Enterprise plan. It does not list a self-serve paid price. Its FAQ mentions a self-serve Agency Growth plan with 400 credits per client workspace per month, without a price. Some other sites still quote older Starter and Growth prices. Those are not on Profound's own page, so treat them as out of date.
Does Profound have a free trial?
Yes. The Trial is free for 7 days and runs 50 prompts a day on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews in one region and language, with unlimited seats. Profound picks the prompts from your industry and you cannot customize them. Exports, the API and support are not included on the trial.
What is the cheapest Profound alternative?
Among tools with a listed monthly price, Otterly.AI is the cheapest at $29 a month for 15 prompts on four engines. Ahrefs Brand Radar Custom Prompts starts at $50 a month, and Rankscale Pro is $99. AthenaHQ has a free plan with 300 credits. All prices as listed in October 2026.
Is Peec AI a good Profound alternative?
For most self-serve teams, yes. Peec lists its plans ($96, $232 and $480 (EUR 85, 205 and 425) a month), lets you write your own 50 to 350 prompts, includes unlimited users and tracks daily. Profound goes further on enterprise needs and its AI Marketer drafts content, which Peec does not. Our Profound vs Peec AI page compares them line by line.
Which Profound alternative writes content for you?
Gauge writes 18 publish-ready articles a month on its $599 plan and can publish to Webflow, Framer, Sanity or GitHub. Goodie includes content and optimization agents with 50 actions a month on Core. AthenaHQ has a content optimization agent on Starter, and Scrunch includes basic content generation on Core. In every case a person should review what goes live.
Which Profound alternative is best for agencies?
Rankscale's Growth plan is aimed at agencies at $385 a month, with 50 brand dashboards and white-label options. Peec AI has separate agency plans starting at $232 (EUR 205) a month for 10,000 credits, and Goodie's agency plan starts at $275 a month. Profound has a self-serve Agency Growth plan, but its pricing page does not show the price.
Do Profound alternatives track the same AI engines?
Mostly, but check the plan you will actually buy. Profound's Enterprise tracks up to nine engines, including Claude, DeepSeek and Exa. Base plans elsewhere are narrower. Peec AI lets you pick three models, Scrunch Core covers four, and Otterly.AI covers four with Claude, AI Mode and Gemini as add-ons. AthenaHQ Starter and Rankscale Pro cover the widest lists among self-serve plans.

Whichever tracker you pick, someone has to act on it

Profound or not, a tracker shows where you stand in AI answers. If you make an app and want the work done, Agniverse GEO is our AI search lab. We track real buyer prompts across ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini and work on the pages and sources the answers draw from. Clients join by application.

Published by Agniverse GEO, the AI search lab from Agniverse. We do the work of AI search as a service, sell no tracking tool and have no relationship with Profound, so this is a neutral read. Facts checked against each tool's own site as of October 2026. Found something out of date? Tell us and we will fix it.
